Here is my weekly check in with myself and the universe as to how my weight loss is going.
To be honest, I have had a bit of a mixed week. When in charge of my food, it was healthy. However, I still find unexpected events or other people don’t half have a habit of disrupting my plans. This week, we had events at school and when late home, it is so easy to succumb to a takeaway. Naughty Red Leicester cheese tempted me yesterday. However, these days I know not to beat myself up but to enjoy the treats and then get back on the straight and narrow.
The media has had various stories on weight loss.
I was interested to hear Dawn French talking of missing her old shape. I have talked about this several times in these posts. Not what I was expecting at all when I started this journey in September. This week, I felt my upper arm was more bony (although still huge) and it was another little sign on the slimming down working slowley but surely.
I heard Linda Robson talking about losing lots of weight by going down to 600 calories a day. I can’t see that is a healthy way to do it to be honest. I am also not convinced of choosing shakes instead of real meals. I know many slimmers find these useful though so I guess it is all what works for you as the individual you are.
I also think it would do women a whole lot of good if the media and company stopped talking about “plus size”. It is a silly use of language and only serves to bring women down emotionally.
Well, here’s to everyone trying to get healthier and to the wonderful women who support each other via #mumentum over on the New Mum Online blog where you can find the lovely Liska giving us a push in the right direction http://newmumonline.blogspot.com/
