How to warm up your body at this time of year becomes a big issue.
As soon as October arrives, I bring blankets downstairs, invest in a fluffy dressing gown and try often unsuccessfully to persuade the children to wear the numerous pairs of slippers I have bought them.
I have always had cold feet sometimes so cold that I tried to look up if there was a disease of cold feet when I was younger. It is not the biggest issue in the world but cold feet are uncomfortable and sometimes borderline painful.
We have carpets in the bedrooms but everywhere else has laminate flooring. I love this for easier cleaning but it does not feel nice on the toes in these colder months.
When I was a kid, we did not even have central heating but nowadays there are wonderful things like underfloor heating to help us stay toasty at home. I like the idea that underfloor heating gives that immediate sense of comfort as your feet hit the floor but also I imagine it is better for the environment. Finally, after an awful incident when my son touched a radiator and hurt himself when he was a toddler, I think underfloor heating is probably a bit of a safer bet for younger children.
Underfloor Heating Trade Supplies have created a survey to find out what people think about underfloor heating. It only takes a minute to fill out, and it would be great if you could go and let them know what you think. You can get to the survey by clicking here.
