Wasn’t it lovely to watch inspirational mums receiving their Tesco Mum of the Year Awards from celebrities at the Savoy Hotel?
I hope you all caught the coverage yesterday on Channel 5 and if not, you can see the programme here. Prepare to be moved and inspired by mums who go beyond the call of duty.
2015 marks the 10th annual Tesco Mum of the Year Awards. Which mum will you nominate for one of these amazing awards?
I bet you know a mum who makes a huge difference probably thinking themselves quite ordinary whilst being totally extraordinary.
You are invited to nominate mums you consider to be remarkable and deserving of recognition. Mums are nominated by family members, friends, work colleagues and even strangers who have heard about the amazing things they do. The mums are unsung heroines, those that raise money for charity or selflessly help others.
Women like Jane Plumb who campaigns tirelessly to make authorities see sense so that families do not have to face the loss of a baby in the way she did. Women who have experienced extreme heartbreak and yet find a way to help others.
Special souls like Laura Young who having seen how art therapy helped her very sick daughter has set up the Teapot Trust and is working to see art therapy being made available in hospitals across the UK.
Amazing ladies like Lynn McManus who seem to be mum to everyone – her birth children, her adopted family and the local community setting up a centre where special needs children can play in a safe, fun and supportive environment.
The nomination period for the 2015 awards closes at 11.55pm on September 5 2014. Don’t put it off – think about that mum in your mind and heart right now and get your nomination in.
Tesco’s panel of celebrity judges, key members of the Tesco team, mummy bloggers and independent experts choose a winner and runner up in each category from a shortlist of nominations. The shortlist will be announced in October 2014. Some mums may be interviewed before a final decision can be made. Winners will be announced by February 2015.
