Are you ready to meet the Boxtrolls?
We were very lucky to get a sneak preview of the BoxTrolls film.
We drove up to London and parked the car easily. We were at the Odeon cinema in time for fun in the foyer with children’s activities, food and drink and a chance to meet the BoxTrolls themselves. We also enjoyed checking out the wall of fame with photographs of celebrities and royalty.
The Boxtrolls movie is described as a comedic fable. I guess that means it certainly makes the whole family laugh and has an important message that we can all learn from.
We get to know the town of Cheesebridge where the people are obsessed with wealth, class and the stinky cheese.
There is a legend that the BoxTrolls who live below the cobblestone streets are out to steal the town’s fine cheeses and their children too.
What if that isn’t the real story? What are the BoxTrolls really like?
Why does one of the BoxTrolls look so very different to the others?
There is a villain in Cheesebridge out to eradicate the BoxTrolls once and for all.
Who will find new strengths inside and save them?
8 year old – “I think it was very clever how they made their names what was on the box. It was quite funny that when Mr Snatcher ate some cheese his face started bulging. My favourite character was Mr Snatcher because he was funny”
He marked the film 11 out of 10.
My 10 year old daughter said “I liked the hench men as they were funny and turned out good in the end.”
She marked the film 7 out of 10.
My 13 year old son commented “I liked this film and particularly loved the funny after credits scene”
He scored the film 9 out of 10.
Him Indoors says “A really good story with a good moral to it. I think the comedy elements were good”
All my family recommend that you see the BoxTrolls
