Am I cheerful? Well, let’s say this week has being troubled. I have had arguments galore with Him Indoors after he put work over family last weekend. I have had pre-menstrual tension which is always good for adding to marital strife.
I don’t know how to say this but someone I used to know died on Sunday. She was very young and had children aged 2 and 4. I did not know her well but I only ever knew her to be smiling, warm and welcoming. About 2 years ago, I sent her a card wishing her good luck on her marriage. This week, I am choosing a sympathy card. Shock, anger, disbelief and a wish it wasn’t so just about sums up my feelings on this one.
So, digging deep, what are my reasons to be cheerful?
1. I am a wife and mother and I am alive.
You know I think I will leave it at that this week.
Regular readers will know just how often I bleat on about women’s place in society, about being tired and stressed, about resenting some of the demands of parenting and marriage. For today, I will value what I have.
