I have the obvious big fat one!
1. My husband starts a new job on the South coast a week on Monday. It still all seems very surreal.
2. It is Half Term and this means not rushing around with uniform, school bags, kits and homework. I am one of those inadequate mums who always sees this as a very big reason to be cheerful.
3. We went out to to see “Leave Hitler to Me Lad”, a powerful play about the plight of evacuees who were not collected after the war or perhaps returned to less than ideal circumstances. My 8 year old son was so very moved that he left the venue in tears. It was good to get out and to support the local arts centre.
4. We went out to tea to celebrate the new job. Being together as a family full of hope and looking towards the future felt great.
I can’t think of many more this week because I guess the job news is dominating our thoughts and feelings a lot.
In fact, I think after so much pressure, it is all catching up with me a bit so I have to watch for that depression thing which I know sounds bonkers because yes this is great news but the last few months have left me exhausted emotionally I think. Now that I can go “Phew!”, I also need to not allow the blues about the whole situation to get to me.
