Lose weight and save time with Dietbon diet meals
After an interesting week of great food, I am delighted to share my DietBon review with you. After a small hiccup regarding my delivery of the diet meals and my phone consultation I was excited to receive a box full of tempting treats knowing they were good for me and might just help me shed some pounds in time for party season.
What is Dietbon
Dietbon is a diet plan based on home-delivered meals and telephone consultations with a friendly dietician. All your daily meals are delivered to your home : breakfast, lunch, a snack and dinner for 6 days out of 7. The 7th day is a free day which I highly approve of. I think too much restriction on diet plans always leads to comfort eating at some point setting you back and knocking you off course entirely. This day would be a great day for socialising or taking part in business events. It is also a way of learning how to prepare your own balanced and healthy meals. The Dietbon meals are gourmet, varied and balanced. Portion sizes are fine neither too big or too small and they are calorie-controlled meals. DietBon allows customers to lose up to a healthy 8lbs per month. Dietbon meals contain 100% natural ingredients: no additives, preservatives or artificial colourings. There are also no GM ingredients, artificial sweeteners or palm oil. There is a lot to love about Dietbon!
Dietbon Review
The great thing about Dietbon is that the meals are delivered to you. I don’t know about you but there are weeks where I am motivated to do a big food shop and weeks when it all seems too much effort. Even better with Dietbon you can tailor what you receive to the individual you are. You can understand why this concept is growing rapidly in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Spain. The fantastic news is that it is now making its way to the UK.
Consultation with Dietbon dietician
I am not the biggest fan of phone calls with strangers. I have recently got over quite a phobia about the telephone but I can still get nervous before an expected call. I need not have worried as the DietBon lady was so friendly and easy to talk to. She sounded genuinely interested in learning about me as an individual. I explained I had lost about 5 stones over quite a long period and was relatively relaxed about my weight these days. Having said that I still do need to lose a little weight and DietBon could only help in that process. The Dietbon consultant did not keep me too long on the phone but covered how the programme worked including sensible tips like adding plenty of fruit and vegetables to prevent any hunger pangs.
Meal Plan
It was so exciting to see the variety of food in my parcel. It actually seemed quite a lot for just one week.
12 main meals
-
Creamy vegetarian carrot and coconut soup
-
Spicy tomato and beef soup
-
Whole meal salad : Mini farfalle with chicken and sundried tomatoes
-
Chicken tikka massala with rice and quinoa
-
Mexican meatballs with pasta vegetables and tomato sauce
-
Roast chicken fillet with mashed potatoes
-
Sautéed pork with diced vegetables and bacon
-
Salmon with vegetables and grains and a soya sauce
-
Chicken fillet with rice and almond sauce
-
Marengo veal
-
Conchiglie ( Pasta) pacific salmon and spinach
-
Ravioli stuffed with goat’s cheese pesto with a tomato and tofu sauce
Breakfast consisted of plain pancakes which were tasty and easy to prepare.
Snacks were the most delightful lemon cakes. I am fussy with anything with lemon in it as I don’t like the lemon to overpower. These cakes were just right.
Desserts were organic apple and pear compote. I really enjoyed this fruity hit. These are the sort of things where you just know they are doing your health good.
There were two packets of tea included too. For the mornings I had Vitalize Me for energy and focus. We all need those two in our busy lives right? I was also pleased with the evening tea called Keep Calm for relaxation at the end of the day. I need to keep calm these days as recently I have struggled with anxious thoughts possibly linked to my menopause.
Dietbon is easy to follow
My week on Dietbon made food super easy allowing me to get on with so many other useful things such as home educating and also some self-care activities. The meals are easy to prepare usually consisting of a quick session in the microwave or ready to eat as they are. On the first day I felt hungry so stocked up on fruit and vegetables and that made all the difference.
What I loved about Dietbon
As I have said, sometimes it is nice not to have to think too much about food shopping and preparation. I like that you can choose your favourite type of meal tailored to your individual taste such as Western, Asian or Mediterranean. I loved the veal dish most of all and that was the one where I could really sense that gourmet experience.
The pancakes were small and satisfying. You can add extra fruit, nuts or yoghurt to them. To be honest, my teenage girl found the packet so they went very speedily indeed. I also had to wrest the lemon cakes away from my teenage son.
I loved the sweet and fruity treats provided by the lemon cakes and the organic compote.
The teas for someone who drinks far too much coffee were a revelation. I much preferred them to my usual cuppa.
Verdict
I lost just under 2 pounds in the week which is fine as that equates to a health weight loss pattern. Having had years on diets that make you feel guilty, I do not obsess about the weighing scales any more as they do not define me.
The meals suited me as I know I need to lose some more weight and they are tasty so you don’t feel that sense of restriction associated with so many diets.
Very importantly for me as I juggle so many things, it was great to see how much time I could save on this programme without having to cook for a long time or even think much about what to eat.
Although I am at home all the time, I can see how the meals would work for office workers with access to a microwave.
I love how Dietbon treats you as an individual in terms of letting you choose the meals you prefer and also during the telephone consultation.
With a nod to climate change issues, it is great that the packaging can be recycled.
