It’s vital that you get the right batteries here and that you are going to ensure your alarms are working by testing them a couple of times a month. That’s a really important thing you can do.
Get Your Fireplace Ready
If you do have a fireplace, then you’ll want to make sure that you are getting it ready before autumn, so you can use it safely and easily. One of the first steps will be to hire a chimney sweep who can come and clear it out. This is important for reasons of safety – if there is anything in the chimney such as nesting birds, you’ll obviously need that cleared before you can light the fire. You should then service it and ensure that it is ready to use before you do so.

This is of course not something you should do yourself unless you are qualified, but it is necessary to get your boiler checked if you are going into the autumn, and you will obviously be using it more in the coming months.
