Fashion Trends for 2023

Now that 2023 is nearly halfway through, the fashion trends are in full swing. Are you updated on the latest looks? If you haven’t been keeping up, you’re in luck! This blog has gathered some information that will benefit those trying to assemble a 2023 wardrobe for the second half of the year.

“Utilitarian” Looks Are In

According to Refinery20, pieces like cargo pants, denim, and wearable silhouettes are hot on the runways. That sounds a bit drab, but designers are incorporating dramatic hem lengths and metallic silver accessories to keep things interesting.

Red is having a Moment

Red hues are expected to take over fashion shows in the fall of 2023. Designers from Sandy Liang and PatBo to Tory Burch will utilize vibrant red colors. Not just any reds will do, though. You’ll want to be thinking about intense reds with orange undertones. Fashionable women’s boutiques, like April Blooms Boutiques, may have a lot of red pop up in the future.

Sheer Clothing is Making a Comeback

The 90s called, and they are totally stoked that sheer clothing is coming back. Big-name celebrities like Cher and Rihanna have been rocking these looks before the trend started again. Some may think it’s too much, but we may see more sheer in everyday work wear.

Polarizing Denim

Denim seems to be a more controversial fabric choice for pieces besides jeans. You either love or hate denim. Those who hate it may blame Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. Despite that past faux pas, designers send models out in everything from denim strapless dresses to undergarments and shoes! Even if you can’t stand the all-denim look, you may want to keep a couple of denim items in your closet.

Maxi Skirts

The rise in popularity of the maxi skirt may be due to the mini skirt trend of 2022. It does make sense when you realize that cargo pants and denim are having a moment. You should expect to see a lot of long skirts while you are out and about.

Tassels and Fringe

Tassels and fringe are huge right now thanks to the festival circuit. Many celebrities were spotted wearing fringe and tassels at Coachella. Another factor that’s keeping fringe and tassels in, is the popular TV series and novel, Daisy Jones and the Six.

These are only a handful of the hot trends making the rounds right now. In addition to the vibrant reds, cobalt blue is also a rising star. It does seem like striking colors will be around for a while.
