Late October Sunday Reflections
It was a cold and stormy night lol. Good writers aren’t meant to write that sentence but rules are made to be broken. Autumn appears to have given us a blast just to remind us she is here. Did you remember about the clocks falling backwards? I am so grateful to whoever told me the way to remember about clock changes is that we spring forwards and fall backwards. Here are my late October Sunday Reflections.
Late October Sunday Reflections.
- If you love animals, people, food and/or heritage, I urge you to please watch All Rivers Spill Their Stories To The Sea
- I had a meeting with a wonderful community organisation that works with people who are visually impaired. Once again, doing amazing work with just one paid member of staff on part time hours. I am always happy to promote good causes in my Charity Spotlight.
- I visited The Story in Durham for the first time. Really lovely place with warm and friendly staff, a great cafe and interesting exhibits.
- I visited Hartlepool and may have tumbled into a charity shop. I was looking for a big, waterproof coat but came out with a Marks and Spencer aviation style jacket with a fur trim. The nearest thing I can find online costs a hundred pounds so I reckon I got an absolute bargain.
- I have felt loved and supported this week. My brother took me out to lunch in Durham. My young adults shopped for me. My son made a wonderful pizza and garlic bread last night. Nice online chat with another of my stepdaughters too.
- I had one day where I was in a funny mood so blogged about what causes funny moods and why they may not be a negative thing.
- Blogs like lives have their ups and downs. This week this blog has not had as many views and readers as in previous weeks. It is Half Term season and wouldn’t I prefer women to be out with their families enjoying quality time than maintaining my blog success? Frankly, yes even if I do enjoy the dopamine hit of a surge of interest in my ramblings. Don’t forget to leave a comment so I know I am not talking to myself, share on social networks via the sharing buttons at the end of each post and all likes are appreciated too.
- My financial planning is continuing. I am pleased my credit score is going up this week now an energy supplier from my old place have finally acknowledged I did pay my fuel bill in full.
- I put the heating on starting much later than usual this year. It appears the heating in my new home is very efficient which is pleasing.
- My hip pain is still niggling but I have painkillers, my heat wrap and am walking more all of which help.
- Was out in the storm yesterday but was absolutely worth it for great company, a cafe visit and the wake-up call that is All Rivers Spill Their Story To The Sea
As Halloween approaches, it’s a reminder that time keeps moving forward whether we act or not. Many of us carry hopes, ideas and good intentions, yet we are all here with the chance to make even a small difference in the lives of others. Sometimes it is the smallest acts of kindness, encouragement or support that leave the biggest mark.
Perhaps this season is also a good moment to reflect on relationships that have become stuck or strained. If you’ve found yourself in a stand-off with someone, it may be worth asking whether the time has come for a fresh start. Reaching out doesn’t always change the outcome, but it can open the door to understanding, healing and new possibilities.
As we look ahead to Halloween and beyond, let’s not wait for the perfect moment. Let’s take action, make that small difference where we can, and be open to the fresh starts that could make life a little brighter for ourselves and others.
I’ll be back next Sunday with another 11 October Sunday reflections. Until then, be kind to yourself, celebrate the small wins, enjoy taking a break for your elevenses and remember that every chapter of life has something to teach us.
What would make your own list of late-October Sunday reflections this week?
Every woman carries moments that shaped her. If you feel ready to share one of yours, you’re welcome to add it to my What’s Your Story? space — a gentle corner of the internet where real voices matter.
