October Sunday Reflections – 11 musings
Welcome my October Sunday reflections.
Life moves so quickly that it’s easy to rush from one week to the next without stopping to notice what we’ve learned, achieved, worried about, enjoyed or simply survived. So each week, I’ll be sharing 11 Sunday reflections from my week. Some will be light-hearted, some thought-provoking, and some deeply personal.
My hope is that these posts encourage other women to pause for a few minutes and reflect on their own week too. What made you smile? What challenged you? What are you learning about yourself as your life continues to evolve?
Autumn Sunday reflections
Here are this week’s 11 reflections.
- My neurodiverse daughter is loving studying video games design. I love how she is investing in books and applying herself with such focus.
- My younger son has returned home to roost for a while. This has changed the dynamic in our lovely home. I enjoy our chats and his humour. We gather together for episodes of Ted Lasso which he introduced me to some time ago. He is very good at guessing what I will love and getting it right.
- I used to run craft fayres. A stallholder said she loathed customers who would pick up, put down and piss off without buying. I have felt treated that way a bit recently in both my work and personal life. I reflect positively that other customers bought that lady’s cushions and the right people will come into my life and the right ones leave. The Universe is doing its stuff.
- No dates this week so I blogged about some of my learning from the slightly insane world of online dating.
- I don’t get cooked for these days so it was lovely to have my dinner cooked by my son.
- I am taking part in a blogging challenge called Blogtober where I am challenged to post every day for a month. It is a wonderful reminder of blogging as it used to be before competition and money took over. It so special to catch up with vintage bloggers and to share our writing with one another. It’s a flexible challenge where you can follow writing prompts or do your own thing like me sharing easy Halloween recipes.
- I am struggling to finish the novel for the book club meeting tomorrow. Google says I don’t have to finish it to be able to turn up and socialise. Let’s see if I make it over the threshold.
- I will be seeing my GP tomorrow and understand they have new medication to help with energy levels.
- I was assertive when someone was trying to blame me for things that I genuinely don’t think are my fault. I also was proud to challenge things that are still said to me and others on the other side of a broken relationship.
- I really feel that post Harvest Moon stuff is bringing good stuff our way as a family. Our 2020 was rubbish and we have struggled individually and as a group to make sense of things since then. The past is indeed another country and it is high time to cherish the present.
- It’s great to feel excited about what I might be reporting back next Sunday.
I’d love to encourage you to take five minutes today and reflect on your own week. What coloured your days? What moments made you smile? What are you proud of? And as we move further into this new season, what would you like to carry forward and nurture in the weeks ahead?
I’ll be back next Sunday with another 11 October Sunday reflections. Until then, be kind to yourself, celebrate the small wins, enjoy taking a break for your elevenses and remember that every chapter of life has something to teach us.
What would make your own list of October Sunday reflections this week?
Every woman carries moments that shaped her. If you feel ready to share one of yours, you’re welcome to add it to my What’s Your Story? space — a gentle corner of the internet where real voices matter.
