Blogging plans for a whole new decade
Blogging is a strange sport. Many vintage bloggers started to write online almost by accident with no clear aims as such. Many were bored stay at home mothers who wanted to have a voice in some way. Others were would-be novelists. Many were seeking community whether they realised that or not. Others wanted to change the world for the better or highlight a particular cause. It then became apparent that money could be made via blogging. In a way this was a great thing meaning some women could stay at home with their children and income-generate at the same time. All of a sudden, people were becoming bloggers with an aim right from the start of making money. There is nothing wrong with that and yet, as a vintage blogger, I feel that is when we started to lose a lot of the heart that made blogging so very special. As 2020 dawns, I think many of us are questioning so many aspects of our lives. I am marking my late mum’s 94th birthday by sharing my blogging plans for a whole new decade.
Blogging plans for a whole new decade
My mum is always very relevant to my blog as she told me to write in the first place just a few months before she passed away. I did not know what to say on the blog at first. I started by sharing how challenging I found the whole parenting thing. I had post-natal depression which lingered as I sought help way too late. I shared my pain as I saw my parents become ill and pass away. I wrote honestly, openly and some thought bravely. The biggest win of all from blogging was realising that we are never alone with this stuff. It is just life and everyone of us has huge lows and wonderful highs along the way. As my dear Dad used to say “Life changes” and we have to adapt to that ready or not. My blogging plans for 2020 include getting back to some of that authentic writing as new challenges crop up. I have removed a lot of the posts about my children from my blog to protect their privacy now they are adults and older teens. That seems fair. They will tell their own story and truths as they see fit.
Focus on women
The blog started about one woman’s life. Later it became about sharing the stories of other women and I am so keen to do lots of that in the next decade. Blogging can be such a powerful force for getting the reality of women’s lives out there. I think if we harnessed this we could change so many aspects of society that hold women back from domestic abuse through to unequal wages. That is without even going into how every blogger could support a charity or two via their blog. If a charity has girls and women as its beneficiaries, I will always be open to covering them on my blog. As a former charity work, I know it can be tough to raise awareness of services and campaigns when working to limited budgets. So for 2020 and beyond, I want to inspire other women by showing them how women do great things even in challenging times. Let’s share those lessons and empower each other!
Lifestyle blog
There is no doubt that over time this blog has become a women’s lifestyle blog. This was not particularly planned but it is how things have turned out. With that in mind, I have started a new blog too which will really niche down on the women’s empowerment front. I fancy a new and exciting blogging adventure for a new decade. Rest assured this blog will remain and develop too.
Digital products
2020 will see me launch some online products too. Watch this space!
Let’s go!
Apparently it is already 2020 in some parts of the world. Time to stop talking and start acting then.
Happy New Year to all my readers! I would love to hear what you think about my blogging plans for a whole new decade.

I love the term “Vintage blogger”. hehehe I just fell into it as I was bored over 7 years ago.
It sounds like you have some very exciting plans. Wishing you all the best for 2020 and the new decade x
I do really love your plans for the next decade. I only started blogging a year ago. I had some mental health issues and I was coming to terms with having a child with special needs and I thought that if I write a blog about it. That will help me mentally and then help to raise more understanding of autism. Of course I would love to make a living out of my blog, I see it as a way out of teaching. #StayClassyMama
